Sell two services out of one day’s availability.

A hair studio takes trial runs on one form and wedding days on another, and both draw down the same day’s availability.

Wedding hair Saturday rate
JUN 14 Sat
Trial run Taken at 10:00
Wedding day 1 slot left
Both forms draw from the same day

Illustrative experience

  • One inventory resource behind both forms
  • A price that follows the day of the week
  • A review step before the booking is taken

The finished experience

Two forms, one count of the day.

A trial run booked on one form draws that day down for the other, so what is left of a day is counted in one place instead of two.

A good fit for
Studios and services selling more than one thing out of the same day.

  1. 1

Put the day’s slots in one place

Both forms’ product fields select the same Advanced inventory resource, and a date scope on that resource gives every day its own count.

    GP Inventory

  2. 2

Price the day, not the service

A pricing rule on the product field reads the date the customer chose and applies the weekday, Saturday or Sunday rate.

    GP Conditional Pricing

  3. 3

    Let them check it first

The customer reads the service, the date and the total back before the booking is taken.

How do two forms share one day’s count?

Each form’s product field selects the same Advanced inventory resource, and that resource is scoped to the date field. The count belongs to the day, and both forms draw from it.

When is the slot actually taken?

It depends on payment status. Entries with no payment status count; Processing is excluded by default. Configure gpi_temporary_payment_statuses if processing payments should temporarily reserve stock, and test completed, failed and abandoned payments with your payment integration.

Can a third service share the same day?

Two is the safe answer. Where a shared resource is scoped to a date field that GP Limit Dates controls, the documentation caps shared inventory at two forms for performance, so a third service is better added as another choice on a form you already have.
