Our origin story
David was already helping build Gravity Forms when he started sharing his own experiments. On April 25, 2012, at four in the morning, GravityWiz.com went live.
A collection of snippets became a suite of plugins. Other wizards joined in. But the idea stayed simple: help people do more with the form builder they already love.
2012
David launches GravityWiz.com on April 25 to share Gravity Forms snippets and tutorials.
2013
Gravity Perks launches on February 24 with seven plugins. The first 200 customers come aboard that year.
2016
The first Gravity Perks Weekly Updates goes out on December 5, the start of Gravity Wiz Weekly. Live Preview and Post Content Merge Tags join the suite.
2017
Clay joins as a partner. Nested Forms arrives, opening up a new world of forms within forms.
2019
A long-running idea becomes a flagship perk. The suite reaches 30 plugins and the support team grows.
2020
Gravity Wiz becomes a Certified Gravity Forms Developer and publishes the 100th Gravity Wiz Weekly.
2022
After a historically long beta, Nested Forms gets its official 1.0 release on January 18. By year's end Gravity Wiz has passed 20,000 customers.
2023
Ten years after the first seven perks, the suite reaches 46. In July, Gravity Shop launches with GS Product Configurator, bringing Gravity Forms to WooCommerce.
2024
A new website and brand launch in February, the first redesign in almost ten years. Gravity Connect follows on August 21 with three Connections: Notion, Google Sheets and OpenAI.
2025
Spellbook launches on May 20 as a single plugin for managing every Gravity Wiz product, replacing the Gravity Perks plugin. GP Bookings, the idea David and Clay first planned to build together, opens in early access.
2026
The 300th Gravity Wiz Weekly goes out on February 27. GP Bookings ships its first production-ready beta, and Gravity Wiz has now served more than 30,000 customers across 300,000+ websites.

My name is David Smith. Not a very wizardly name, but yes, I’m one of the wizards behind Gravity Wiz.
I’ve spent the last decade mastering Gravity Forms and sharing that mastery with the community. I love meeting new people, so feel free to say hello!
CTO
I joined Gravity Wiz as the lead engineer in 2017 and have been working with WordPress since 2008. I have a knack for creating solutions to everyday needs, from a local development app for WordPress to pioneering drag-and-drop theme frameworks.
These days, I put that experience into building robust, powerful perks.
Staff Support Wizard
I help customers find solutions for their use cases and get more from their forms. My days involve troubleshooting issues, working through the details, and finding a way forward.
When I’m not solving customer puzzles, I love spending time with my family and watching football.
Senior Support Wizard
I’m a Support Wizard here at Gravity Wiz. I spend my days conjuring up solutions for customers’ use cases and helping to banish any issues they run into.
When I’m not wearing my wizard’s hat, you can often find me getting stuck into a DIY project or absorbed in a TV box set.

I’m a Support Wizard here at Gravity Wiz, where my days are filled with crafting solutions and working through tricky issues.
When I’m not waving my virtual wand, you’ll find me exploring magical realms within the pages of a good book. I also love adventures in the great outdoors with my four little wizards.
Content Sorcerer
I spend my time learning Gravity Wiz magic and helping people put it to work so they can build useful things with WordPress.
Outside the Marketing Tower, you’ll find me at WordPress events around the world: organizing, speaking, volunteering, or catching up with friends. I also love traveling with my camera, chasing good light, good food, or both.
Product Manager
Greetings, traveler! I’m Dani, content wizard and bug detective extraordinaire. I study and document our plugins to help customers get the most out of them, and share the stories behind our wizards’ curious inventions.
When my quill rests, you’ll find me spending time with family, friends, and my trusted familiars.
Software Engineer
I’m a Software Engineer at Gravity Wiz, handling development work from bugs and fixes to new features and code snippets. I strive to make improvements that bring happiness to our customers and help our products stand up to whatever you build.
Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching Formula 1.

I’m a Support Developer with a passion for solving problems and helping customers get the most out of their forms. I spend my days untangling tricky issues and finding ways to keep things working.
Outside my support duties, you’ll find me wrangling my own two little sorcerers or exploring the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
