GP Google Sheets is Leaving Gravity Perks

But it’s not too late to lock this “perk” into your suite forever!1

Gravity Connect has arrived!
Updated August 21, 2024

GP Google Sheets (GPGS) has been renamed to GC Google Sheets (GCGS) and is now part of the Gravity Connect suite. It is no longer part of the Gravity Perks suite.

If you have GPGS registered now, or you’re a Pro user, you will have access to GCGS for the lifetime of your Gravity Perks license1. In addition, for the next two weeks, new and existing Gravity Perks licenses can access and install GCGS and keep it as part of their Gravity Perks license!

After September 4th, GCGS will only be available to Gravity Perks users that are either Pro license holders or Basic/Advanced license holders who have GPGS/GCGS registered. Secure yours!

GCGS will be available by auto-update for GPGS users by September 4th, 2024. If you would like to install GCGS now, you can do so by downloading the plugin from your Downloads page and uploading it to your WordPress installation.

If GPGS was previously active, GCGS will automatically deactivate it and assume responsibility for processing your GPGS feeds.

We’ve been working hard on a new product suite for a few months now. We’re calling it Gravity Connect.

Gravity Connect will be a suite of plugins, just like Gravity Perks, but with a specific focus on integrating Gravity Forms with top-shelf services like OpenAI, Notion, and… Google Sheets.

Yup, for the first time in Gravity Perks’ history, a perk is exiting the suite. GP Google Sheets will say farewell to its fellow perks and join the upcoming Gravity Connect suite when it launches in mid-August.

We explain why we’re making this move below, but the most important thing to note is if you’re currently using GP Google Sheets, your Gravity Perks license will have access to GC Google Sheets for the lifetime of your license.1 No extra cost for you, loyal patron. 🙌

If you’re not using GP Google Sheets, there’s a good chance you will in the future. Buy or upgrade to Gravity Perks Pro today and lock in access to this plugin forever!1

We know there will be many questions about this change so we’ve done our best to cover the big ones here. If you have any other questions, please let us know. 🙏

What is Gravity Connect?

Gravity Connect is our upcoming product suite dedicated to creating robust, reliable integrations (aka connections) between Gravity Forms and top-shelf services like OpenAI, Notion, and Google Sheets. Each “connection” will be a separate plugin that you install as needed (just like Gravity Perks), keeping your site lean by only loading the Connections you need.

We’ll continue adding new Connections based on customer demand. Here are a few others on our short list: Airtable, Excel 365, and Google Calendar.

What other services would you like to see supported?

Why is Google Sheets leaving the Gravity Perks suite?

We put a mountain of muscle into the development of GP Google Sheets and a river of sweat supporting it since its release – far more than any other perk. There are many more integration plugins we’d like to build for Gravity Forms but, given the resources required to develop and support them, we’re convinced they simply don’t belong in the Gravity Perks suite.

By creating a new suite dedicated to integration plugins, we can generate new revenue to support the development and long-term support of these welcome additions to the Gravity Forms ecosystem.

Am I losing access to GP Google Sheets?

In most cases, no, you are not losing access to GP Google Sheets.

First, it’s important to note that as part of GP Google Sheets’ move to the Gravity Connect suite, it will be renamed to GC Google Sheets.

Here are the specifics about who will have access to GC Google Sheets.

  1. ✅ If you currently have GP Google Sheets registered with any Gravity Perks license level, your existing license will grant you access to GC Google Sheets for the lifetime of your license1.
  2. ✅ If you are on a Gravity Perks Pro license, you will have access to GC Google Sheets for the lifetime of your license1 regardless of whether GP Google Sheets is currently registered.
  3. ❌ If you are on a Gravity Perks Basic or Advanced license and do not have GP Google Sheets registered, you will not have access to GC Google Sheets and you will lose access to GP Google Sheets when Gravity Connect officially launches.

After Gravity Connect launches, new Gravity Perks licenses will not include access to GP Google Sheets (or GC Google Sheets).

So Gravity Perks Pro customers get GC Google Sheets for life?

Yes, even if you do not currently have GP Google Sheets registered!

The only caveat is that you must keep your license active. If your license lapses, you will need to purchase a new Gravity Perks license which will not include access to GC Google Sheets.

The same applies for Gravity Perks Basic and Advanced users with one caveat. You must have GP Google Sheets registered before Gravity Connect launches. Don’t have GP Google Sheets registered but would like to lock in access to GC Google Sheets for your Gravity Perks license? Upgrade to Pro today.

When will Gravity Connect launch?

We expect Gravity Connect to arrive in mid-August. We’ll communicate an official date at least two weeks prior to launch. Just make sure you’re emotionally ready for this epic release. 🥹

Gravity Connect arrived on August 21st, 2024. 🔮

How do I upgrade GP Google Sheets to GC Google Sheets?

GCGS will be available by auto-update for GPGS users by September 4th, 2024. If you would like to install GCGS now, you can do so by downloading the plugin from your Downloads page and uploading it to your WordPress installation.

If GPGS was previously active, GCGS will automatically deactivate it and assume responsibility for processing your GPGS feeds.

How does this impact Gravity Perks?

For the better! A new product suite means new revenue and new revenue means we can dedicate new resources towards Gravity Connect – and – free up existing resources to make Gravity Perks shine even brighter.

If you follow our weekly updates, you’ll note we already do a pretty good job of that, but there’s so much more we can do!

I have more questions… who can I talk to?

Just leave a comment below and one of our legendary support wizards will be happy to assist. 🧙‍♂️

1 If your license is eligible, you will maintain access to GC Google Sheets (previously GP Google Sheets) as long as your Gravity Perks license does not lapse. Lapsed licenses cannot be renewed.

Would it be accurate to call Gravity Connect an alternative to Zapier? Any plans for Salesforce integration?

In the context of Gravity Forms, I would say that is fairly accurate and certainly a lot cheaper. Two primary differences:

      1. Zapier connects many services to many other services. Gravity Connect will connect Gravity Forms to many other services.
      2. Zapier connects with pretty much every service under the sun. Gravity Connect will be focused on far fewer services with an aim to create truly deep connections.

I read this announcement yesterday, but today, when I try to install GP Google Sheets on a site, it says “Installation package not available.” I need to use it on this site today!! What gives?

I’m looking forward to more connect functionality. Maybe consider integration with Zoho sheets as well.

Hi Joshua, this sounds like a coincidence. We haven’t made any changes to GP Google Sheets related to this move yet. I’ll have a support wizard reach out to help you troubleshoot.

Thanks for the suggestion on Zoho Sheets. I didn’t even realize they had a spreadsheet service!

Welp, looks like, as they say, the 14th time’s a charm…finally worked for me.

It was weird, I got other perks to install, but that one wouldn’t for some reason!

      Thank you!

Hello. Thank you for this information. Will you provide a recommended path to transition our sites from GP Google Sheets to Gravity Connect? And I hope the current perk won’t just stop working one day… we would have lead time to transition our sites. Sorry I didn’t notice these info in your memo, perhaps you mentioned and I just overlooked.

Pls confirm. Thanks for your ever amazing support !

We’ll absolutely be communicating any steps required for transition when GC Google Sheets arrives. Our goal is to automate the process so you won’t have to do anything on your end. We’ll let you know where we land.

Regardless, GP Google Sheets will continue to work indefinitely so you’ll have plenty of time to transitions. 🫡
