Keep the form open, but honest

Configure GP Email Validator’s address checks and rejection rules before enabling nominee notifications. Basic MX checks test the domain’s mail setup; validation is not a guarantee that a message will be delivered.

Set a submission limit

Choose a limit based on logged-in user, IP or a field value and a time period. Test it for your audience: shared IPs can group different people, and a changed address can evade an email-value limit.

Let the nominee out

The nomination email links to an opt-out form. Its confirmation email carries the link that adds the address to the blocklist. Enable Blocklist on the nominee-address field so later nominations with that address are rejected.

Can an address be blocked by mistake?

It takes more than one deliberate step. The link in the nomination email opens a short opt-out form, and only the confirmation email sent afterwards carries the link that adds the address to the blocklist.

Does an opt-out affect our other forms?

It can. The WordPress disallowed keys list is shared site-wide; an address can also be rejected by other forms with Blocklist enabled and by WordPress comment checks. Configure the intended fields and test the impact before sharing one list across forms.
