Back in Stock: GP Inventory is 1.0 📦
A dashing new inventory dashboard? Check. Inventory shortcodes? Check. Ready to power your simple and complex inventory needs? Checkity-check!

Back when Gravity Wiz was a one-wizard show, that one wizard (Founder David Smith) wrote a snippet called Better Inventory: a simple, one-off inventory limit solution. Fast-forward to the start of this decade, that humble snippet evolved into a beta perk called GP Inventory. Its magic grew as it was slowly carved, release after release, into a robust and flexible inventory management solution for Gravity Forms.
Even in its beta arc, GP Inventory had plenty in store:
- Simple Inventory lets you set a fixed quantity for a single field—quick, easy, and perfect for basic use cases.
- Advanced Inventory opens the horizons: use Resources to share inventory across multiple fields and forms, and define Scopes to track inventory based on unique combinations of field values.
But all good things must evolve: No more Beta Inventory — it’s time for even Better Inventory, baby. 😎
What’s new in GP Inventory 1.0?
New Look: Inventory Dashboard
Many wizards relied on the inventory shortcode to keep an eye on their stock. With this update, we’ve conjured up a cozy digital warehouse—displaying all inventory-enabled fields from a form in one place. 👀

Use Case Example: Let’s say you’re selling art prints. You’ve got different sizes, and a few types of paper to choose from—GP Inventory keeps track of what’s available across all those combinations.

New Spell: Inventory Shortcode
Speaking of the inventory shortcode, this popular snippet is now a part of core! 🎉Use it anywhere and everywhere shortcodes are supported to customize and display the availability of your shiny goods.
Use Case Example: Detailed admin email notification for when stock is running low.

Same Wizardry
A 1.0 release isn’t just a milestone—it’s a promise of stability. GP Inventory has passed our most rigorous automated tests (and more than a few tricky edge cases) to earn its wizardly seal of approval. 🧙

Hello Wizzes, this is looking great. For the use cases that I imagine I would ask for front-end access to the inventory, so that non-admin-store-managers or other specific users roles can control and update the inventory. A tablelike view to make it easy and possible to manage stock from large amounts of items and their availability amongst multiple stores. I know you can do it! ;) Thanks a lot!
Hey Ignacio,
Thank you for your kind words! 🧙
About your use case: if you’re using the Simple inventory, you could create a frontend table view to access and edit the inventory using Populate Anything and Entry Blocks.
Example Walkthrough
1- Store your inventory as entries in Form A (include a field for the items and one for quantities).
2- Enable inventory for Form B and populate the items (Value) and quantities (Inv. Limit) from Form A.
3- Set up Entry Blocks for Form A using the Entries Table.
Does this sound like the right track? 😃
