Gravity Perks Weekly Updates #23

Hello, friends! I’ve been off exploring the southern Alaskan coastline. Jordan’s been hard at work holding down the fort. This week and next week’s updates will be a little lighter but we’ll be hitting it hard the week after.

Replace Merge Tags via Code – Use Gravity Forms Post Content Merge Tags to replace merge tags programatically; including merge tags included directly in your WordPress page templates. View Snippet

Credit Card Expiration – Send notifications based on a credit card expiration date when using Gravity Forms Notification Scheduler. This is a great first step towards dunning support in Gravity Forms. View Snippet

Here’s a full list of updates we made to Gravity Perks this week:

Gravity Forms Live Preview (v1.2.7)

  • Fixed issue where clicking on checkbox did not correctly set the preview setting.

Gravity Forms Email Users (v1.3.4)

  • Fixed fatal error that occurred for users running older versions of the Members plugin.

    Hi David,

A shame. I’ll likely have to try to do something myself. Not as good as having you guys do it for me, but it’ll have to do.

The plugin you’re referring to here is the one that people are complaining about: lack of support and that it falls down in a couple of areas. Jordan should have more info on this (I’m assuming since he commented on one of the posts by someone with a proposed solution.)

    Thanks, David!

Dang, that’s too bad. Good luck with your solution. We’d love to see what you come up with. :)

Very cool, David! But I have a (somewhat) follow-up question: I recently found a post that talks about adding front-end CC update and cancellation functions to the GF+Stripe integration (https://saltnpixels.com/front-end-cancellation-with-stripe-gravity-forms/)

Jordan makes some comments in this post and that made me wonder if there was a Perk coming in the near-future with just this capability? If so, it would be FANTASTIC!!! Any chance I understated my excitement at the prospect of such a thing coming out of your team?

Also, I see that with GF+Stripe I can create a product/services charge or a recurring/subscription charge. What I don’t see (and this could be my lack of knowledge as opposed to a lack of functionality of the tool) is a way to add an end date to the charges. Or perhaps a charge for n number of times. In my particular case, I bill my customers in annual increments. I’d like to be able to charge them a fee 12 times (once a month but ending after a year). If they renew, then I’ll charge them another 12 times.

Is there any way to do this? If so, can you suggest to me how to set it up? If not, can you please consider some kind of Perk to allow me to do this?

    Thanks!

    Jeff

Hi Jeff, we do not currently have any Stripe-specific solutions in the works. I’m not sure if this plugin supports what you’re after but it’s a good start.

We do get a fair number of requests for this functionality so it’s definitely something we’ll keep on our radar and consider for a future perk. :)
