New Release: API Alchemist

You’ve seen the marketing. Now, here’s the scoop.

Clay and I have been dreaming of bringing support for REST APIs to Populate Anything for literally years now. If you’re not familiar, Populate Anything lets you dynamically filter and populate choices and field values with your WordPress data.

As we conceptualized what this new feature might look like, we realized that we’d stumbled into a very powerful standalone product—a tool that would let you push, pull, and populate data to, from, and within Gravity Forms.

After months of hard wizarding work, I’m incredibly proud to introduce you to API Alchemist, part of our Gravity Connect suite.

This is a product that must be seen to be appreciated and explored to be truly understood. That claim comes from my own personal experience as I was consistently surprised and delighted by our own product. 😂

Top Picks: Product Updates

GP Bookings: Services now support durations less than 15 minutes—like 10 minute audition slots for your next big film! When syncing ICS files, you’ll find the parser is more forgiving which means no more issues importing thicc Google Calendar feeds. Also, the Booking Time field works even better with single and multi-day (and nightly) bookings.

GP Submit to Access: You’ll now see a visual indicator on any block that has GSPA enabled. This will make it much easier to find the block you’re looking for. This Jedi mind trick is wizard approved.

We’ve also added a gnarly filter that allows you to fully control GPSA settings via code. In fact, we have a snippet incoming that will show you how to use this filter to globally configure GPSA for a given post type.

GP Word Count: We finally caught our breath for a second and updated this classic perk to ditch the inline CSS and move it to it’s own file. This will make it easier to override those styles with your own.

GC OpenAI: A new Custom Base URL setting has been added, allowing you to use other OpenAI-compatible APIs (such as Open Router). Additionally, custom models are now supported! This not only lets you use models from other providers, but can let you get a jump on OpenAI models before they’re added to core.

Advanced Phone Field: Enable Country Search

You already know that Advanced Phone Field really levels up the UX of your Phone fields, but did you know it’s highly customizable?

We had a customer write in this week wanting to allow their users to search for the country code rather than scrolling through a long list. We were very pleased to show them how easy it was to accomplish using just a smackerel* of code.

*Yes, my son is still obsessed with Winnie-the-Pooh. 🍯

Limit Dates: Preserve Date When Changing Months

While we wrote this snippet by request for a Limit Dates customer, it’ll actually work with any Gravity Forms Datepicker field. So what does it do?

It preserves the selected day of the month when navigating to different months. For example, if you had September 11th selected and then moved to the next month, October 11th would automatically be selected.
