GWW 328: Sweet Validation

Meet ClearBounce, Email Validator’s most affordable verification service. Plus, prettier slider numbers and smarter conditional logic.

Greetings, wizards!

It’s my kids’ second-favorite month of the year — nearly unlimited candy is second only to nearly unlimited gifts. 🎅

Speaking of sweet treats, we’ve got a few goodies for you this week, including a new (and delightfully affordable) email verification service, prettier slider numbers, smarter conditional logic, and more control over address suggestions.

Shall we? 🎃

New: Email Validator 1.1

Just because an email address is valid doesn’t mean anyone’s home. Email Validator already catches fake and disposable addresses, but its verification services go a step further — identifying those technically-valid-but-sketchy addresses that can torch your sender reputation.

Meet ClearBounce, the newest (and most affordable!) verification service in our lineup. 🦘

New accounts get 100 free credits and a free sandbox for testing. Plus, ClearBounce is offering 50% off everything through December 31. (Full disclosure: that’s an affiliate link.)

Top Picks: Product Updates

GP Sliders
✦ Add interactive, calculation-ready range sliders to Gravity Forms.

Big numbers finally look the part. Slider display values now support number formatting, so 1000 shows as 1,000 or 1.000 or $1,000 or €1.000 or… you get it. A small touch that makes budget pickers and donation sliders far easier to read at a glance.

GP Advanced Conditional Logic
✦ Unconditional power with AND/OR groups, date & time rules, user-aware conditions, and more.

Advanced Conditional Logic just got a little more advanced! You can now use operators like is in, does not contain, and is similar to when checking user meta. For example, show a members-only field when someone’s membership level is Gold or Platinum.

GP Address Autocomplete
✦ Simplify address entry with autocomplete, maps, routes, and travel estimates.

Two new JavaScript filters give you more control over address suggestions. Choose how many characters someone needs to type and how long they need to pause before suggestions appear.

And in case you missed it, Address Autocomplete 2.0 introduced a Travel Estimate field that calculates distance and travel time between addresses. Think delivery fees, mileage reimbursements, or a mobile groomer charging based on how far they have to drive. 🚗

How To: Add a Rating Slider to Gravity Forms

Turns out, sliders aren’t just more fun to use — there’s science behind them! A Stanford study found that people start engaging with slider questions sooner, figuring out their answer as they drag.

Dan shows you how to build a Poor → Excellent rating slider with GP Sliders that displays friendly labels to respondents but saves numerical values behind the scenes. You can even use those values to trigger conditional logic, like revealing a “Tell us more…” field for low ratings.

Listen: Crew Collective

I loved Season 1 of Crew Collective, the storytelling podcast from Rocketgenius (the folks behind Gravity Forms). Every episode was a space story told by a different kind of creator: a psychedelic comic artist, an indie rock band, a no-budget Finnish sci-fi parody made in a basement, and a NASA documentary series funded entirely by its viewers.

None of it is about WordPress, software, or even AI — and that’s exactly why it’s worth your time. Sometimes the best way to find inspiration for your own work is to get completely outside of it and see what other people are creating.

Season 2 just launched with Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke, too. 🚀

✦ Sorcerous Snippets

Every week, we’re adding new snippets (and updating old favorites) in our Snippet Library. They’re ready-made solutions that can save you a round of AI prompting or give you a head start on your next vibe-coded masterpiece.

GP Nested Forms | Sync Parent/Child Entry Payment Details

Keep child entries’ payment details in sync with their parent’s, so GP Inventory and choice limits only count child entries that were actually paid for.

What changed: Fixed a compatibility issue with Gravity Forms Stripe 7.0, so child entries sync correctly after a successful Stripe payment.

GP Entry Blocks | Redirect to Edit After Duplicating

Jump straight into editing a freshly duplicated entry — no hunting for the copy.

What changed: Fixed an issue where the snippet opened the original entry instead of the duplicate. A bit of a plot hole for a snippet whose whole job is editing the copy.

GP Limit Dates | Populate New Minimum Date into Linked Date Field

Auto-fill a linked Date field with its new minimum date the moment someone picks a date in the first — e.g., check-out jumps to the earliest allowed day after check-in.

What changed: Now works with Gravity Forms 3.0’s new datepicker, including inline calendars.
