GWW 307: API, Anything

Did you know you can use GC API Alchemist and Populate Anything to populate live REST data into any field? Plus, our new Wizard’s Guide to AI in Gravity Forms.

Greetings, wizards!

As I was mulling over which video to share this week, I noticed we have exactly 777 YouTube subscribers.

I’ve always delighted in “discovering” magical numbers like this in everyday life. Like catching the clock at 11:11am or my odometer at 99,999 miles.

I try not to read into these things… but I’m pretty sure this 777 sighting means you’re going to find a few lucky nuggets in today’s newsletter. 🍀

Top Picks: Product Updates

GC API Alchemist
Connect Gravity Forms to any API — push, pull, and populate live data.

Did you know that API Alchemist integrates with Populate Anything so you can populate data directly from any REST API into your forms? One example of this would be populating years, makes, and models into Drop Down fields.

This week, we made setups like these a little easier by introducing a “Duplicate” action when creating a Populate Anything endpoint. Create one endpoint and then use it as a template for subsequent endpoints by duplicating.

GF Dev Tools
Everything you need to test and debug Gravity Forms in one toolkit.

Born from my own desire to create forms more quickly, the new Quick Add in Field Search feature lets you press “Enter” while in the form editor’s field search to automatically add the first matching field. Enabled via editor preferences.

Here it is in action!

GC Drip
Connect Gravity Forms to Drip for powerful marketing automations.

Way back in 2009, Gravity Forms introduced an absolute sleeper of a feature: Admin Labels. Yes, that links directly to the original blog post announcing their release. 😂

What does that have to do with 2026? Well, we updated GC Drip to actually use them (if set) so you can more easily identify your mapped fields. It’s the simple things. 👌

Wizard’s Guide: Using AI with Gravity Forms

You can accomplish some truly heroic feats with AI in Gravity Forms. From automatic moderation and file analysis to transcriptions and content generation, this guide takes you from zero to hero in no time flat! (If you get that reference, you’ve unlocked one of my favorite childhood movies.)

Sorcerous Snippets

We add new snippets (and updates) to our Snippet Library every week — ready-made solutions that often beat prompting AI, or give you a solid head start on your next vibe-coded build.

GP Pay Per Word | Round Up Price — Rounds up the calculated Pay Per Word price to the nearest whole dollar, both on the frontend display and in the saved order total. Useful for pricing structures that prefer clean dollar amounts over odd cents like $12.47.

GP eCommerce Fields | Credit Card Fee Field — Adds a new “Credit Card Fee” field type that automatically calculates processing fees from a configurable fixed amount plus percentage rate (defaulting to $0.30 + 3.3%). The fee uses a gross-up formula, so after the processor takes their cut, you still net the original subtotal.

GW Zip Files | Auto-Delete Option — Bundles all of an entry’s file uploads into a single downloadable zip archive. We updated the snippet this week to add a new delete_after option that automatically removes generated zip files after a configurable number of days via a daily cron job — helpful for keeping storage in check on forms with high upload volume.
