GWW 296: Bookings Welcome

GP Bookings Beta 1 is here! Plus, how to build a real-time medical calculator, a guide for gating Elementor content, and a sorcerous snippet for image dimensions.

Greetings, adventurers!

Y’all already know I’m a book nerd. I mean, the entire Gravity Wiz brand is loosely inspired by all the wizards I’ve been reading about (and wanting to be) since I was a child. 🧙‍♂️

But lately I’ve become a bit of a bookings nerd too.

Over the last nine months, I’ve been spending dozens and dozens of hours talking with customers about their booking needs—appointments, rentals, reservations—and exploring how we could build something that is flexible enough to handle all of it.

Well… I’ve got something to share with you. 🐣

GP Bookings: Beta Than Ever

GP Bookings Beta 1 is here, it’s flexible as heck, and it’s ready for production. Why isn’t it a 1.0 then? First, that’s a personal question. And second, because there is some feature polish we’d like to add before it gets that shiny badge.

Join me for a quick tour!

We set out to create the most versatile bookings solution ever. It just so happens to run on Gravity Forms. 😉

Product Highlight: Conditional Pricing

Pretty standard bug fixes and compatibility improvements this week, so I want to shine a little light on one of our simple but powerful perks that doesn’t need updates very often — but did get one this week.

GP Conditional Pricing.

It lets you create complex pricing rules for your Gravity Forms products without adding extra fields. Bulk pricing, late or rush fees, early-bird discounts — all made sorcerously simple.

We’ve seen customers do some incredible things with it too, like building booking forms with 25,000 pricing levels and creating fully dynamic, customizable quoting forms.

Quietly powerful. Ridiculously flexible. 🧙‍♂️

Spotlight: Turning Gravity Forms Into a Real-Time Medical Calculator

At Health Services in Slovakia, doctors were losing hours every week calculating blood tests across 700+ parameters. They couldn’t just hand this off to the front desk because the task required medical know-how to interpret the data.

Inspired by other spotlights, Roman Melicher used Gravity Forms and Gravity Perks to build a fully functional web application with a clever twist: a calculator that never actually submits. Now, reception staff can whip up quotes in seconds, and doctors are back to doing what they do best—caring for patients.

Request for Feedback: Gating Elementor Content

We know a lot of folks in our audience are building with Elementor, so we put together a guide specifically for you: how to gate any Elementor content using Gravity Forms. It walks through a practical, flexible approach that works well today…

User adds a shortcode block in Elementor , pastes '[gpsa]' shortcode with HTML content, and publishes. On the front end, the user submits form and HTML content unlocks.

…but as we were working on this article, we couldn’t help but see a few ways we could make Elementor support even better here.

If this is a workflow you rely on (or want to rely on), I’d love to hear your feedback on what would be most useful to you in this context.

Snippet: Display Image Dimensions

File Upload Pro really does make uploading files in Gravity Forms feel like magic. But that doesn’t mean it needs to be mysterious.

This week, we whipped up a snippet that displays image dimensions next to the file name, so users can be absolutely sure they’ve uploaded the right image—and that it’s exactly the right size.

Magic, minus the mystery.
