GWW 319: Logicmaxxing

Archive your Gravity Forms entries with a new free plugin. 🗃️ Plus, a cheat code for conditional rules, and see how Slider fields turned one quiz into a lead magnet.

Greetings, wizards!

This week we’re finally letting a little secret out of the workshop: a new free plugin that is sure to delight. Just don’t be mad at us for hoarding it for so long. 😅

🪮 My personal picks from our laundry list of product updates
🔦 A customer spotlight that will surely generate some interest
📐 A guide to advanced conditional logic operators
🪄 And a few sorcerous snippets to add even more magic to your forms

Let’s start with the headliner. 🤩

New Free Plugin: Gravity Forms Entry Archive

Confession! We’ve been running this little plugin on our own sites for about five years. For the longest time, we figured it was too simple to be a real product.

But we kept getting so much value out of this little baby boy that we had to share!

Take our yearly team reviews. We use the same form every year, and when reviews wrap, we just archive the entries. Next year starts on a clean slate — and previous years’ evals are still right there whenever we want them.

Same story with our job application forms. Passing on a candidate? Archive their entry. What’s left in the active view is our shortlist.

If you manage entries directly inside Gravity Forms, I promise you, you’ll feel the difference immediately. Clear the clutter and keep your entry list primed for action. 🪖

Top Picks: Product Updates

GP Inventory & GP Limit Submissions

Speaking of our new free plugin: both GP Inventory and GP Limit Submissions now count archived entries when they do their math. So archiving an old submission won’t quietly reset a stock count or reopen a submission limit you meant to keep closed — the totals stay accurate whether an entry is active or archived. 🔢

GF Spam Hexer
A powerful spell to protect against spam in Gravity Forms and WordPress.

We’ve improved Spam Hexer’s compatibility with the Partial Entries add-on. Legitimate partial submissions were sometimes getting flagged as spam; now they come through as expected, with your spam protection fully intact. 🛡️

GP Advanced Select
Beautiful, searchable Drop Down and Multi Select fields built for massive datasets.

An accessibility fix this week: your Drop Down and Multi Select fields now keep their associated label after Advanced Select initializes, so screen readers stay properly oriented. Thanks to Pro customer Nathan for flagging this one. 🙏

Spotlight: Turning Forms into Intuitive Lead Generators

Quizzes aren’t just fun to take — there are research-backed reasons behind why they’re incredible lead magnets. The perfect example is the subject of this week’s spotlight: a quiz built by Logan Greenhaw of Trail Mix Creative using GP Sliders and Advanced Calculations.

Not only does it handle 30+ possible results thanks to flawless math conditional magic, its sliders gave it a mind-blowing, scientifically-powered boost.

Guide: Advanced Operators with Conditional Logic

Forms notification conditional logic using the 'is in' operator to match a Shipping ZIP Code field against a list of five ZIP codes.

Gravity Forms’ built-in conditional logic already covers solid ground — but it can do more than “equals” and “contains.” This guide walks through the advanced operators that GP Advanced Conditional Logic unlocks.

If you’ve ever built a wall of nearly-identical conditional rules, this guide is your cheat code for logicmaxxing with Gravity Forms. 💅

Sorcerous Snippets

We add new snippets (and updates) to our Snippet Library every week — ready-made solutions that often beat prompting AI, or give you a solid head start on your next vibe-coded build.

GP Bookings | Form-Specific Event Title & Description — Set different Google Calendar event titles and descriptions depending on which form created the booking — ideal when several booking forms share one service but each needs its own merge tags.

GP Unique ID | Generate ID on Workflow Completion — Hold off generating a Unique ID until a specific Gravity Flow step is complete, so IDs are only assigned once an entry’s been approved.

What changed: Now works when approvals come through the frontend Gravity Flow inbox (including Quick Approval actions), not just steps completed in the admin.

GP Read Only | Enable When Dynamically Populated — Make a field read-only only when it’s been dynamically populated, so pre-filled values stay locked while empty fields remain editable.

What changed: Now works on multi-page forms — a field locked on the first page stays locked as users move between pages.
