Attach files to notifications, a plugin for feed error alerts, updating people in Drip from Gravity Forms, and a story of recovery, reinvention, and remote control racing.

Greetings, wizards!

We’ve got a great edition ready for you this week. What’s in store?

  • My favorite product updates
  • A new add-on from some friends of ours
  • An incredible customer story of recovery, reinvention, and remote control racing
  • A quick guide to updating people in Drip with Gravity Forms
  • An updated snippet for attaching files to notifications

Wands out. We’ve got magic to consume. 🪄

Top Picks: Product Updates

A few of my personal picks from this week’s product updates:

GP Advanced Calculations: A lot of folks like to use conditional statements in their formulas to check for size-based options (like storage units: 10x10, 10x20, 10x30). What GPAC once mistook for devious hex values are now fully supported. 😈

GP Randomizer: Y’all know we love exploring new functionality via snippets. This week we added a new filter to allow custom logic for filtering randomized fields. Then, we used that filter to write a snippet that will keep randomized fields on their original page. 🧭

GP Auto List Field: We restored the Auto List Field’s count merge tag so it is once again available for use wherever merge tags are supported. Want to charge per ingredient? The count merge tag makes using the number of ingredients in calculations easy sauce. 🥫

JetSloth: Gravity Forms Feed Error Alerts

A little story…

We use the Help Scout add-on from Gravity Forms to submit tickets to Help Scout when users submit our support form (learn more about how we built it).

Years and years ago, there was a week where our support load was incredibly light. At first we chalked it up to a seasonal dip, but the longer the “dip” lasted, the more we began to suspect something was actually wrong.

Sure enough, our Help Scout authentication had become disconnected, so our support form wasn’t generating any tickets. 🫠 I dropped everything and immediately wrote some code to send us a notification as soon as a Help Scout feed failed to process.

And that’s where this new plugin from JetSloth comes in. Not only do you not need to write any custom code, you don’t have to wait for a magical sign that your feeds are failing.

Save yourself all of that heartache with instant notifications when something goes wrong and a polished dashboard for seeing exactly what needs fixing.

There’s more to learn about this awesome new additional to the Gravity Forms ecosystem so go check it out!

Spotlight: Racing to Recovery with Turbo Titans

This week’s spotlight is not our typical. We’re shining the light on Ben Horle, founder of Turbo Titans, who transformed a harrowing health crisis into a vibrant, family-friendly remote-control racing venture powered by Gravity Forms and Gravity Perks.

It’s a powerful story of resilience, community, and rekindled joy, and something we think our readers could relate to.

Most importantly, Ben could use our help. He’s inviting the wizard‑verse to help launch Turbo Titans into orbit at CarFest and has a donation form (built with Gravity Perks, of course) where he’s offering multiple donation packages. Check out Ben’s video overview below, and see how you can help Ben via the spotlight link.

How To: Update People in Drip

We’ve used Drip for half a decade now, and keeping subscriber data clean has always been a priority.

This guide will teach you how you can use GC Drip to update people in Drip—right from a form. Whether it’s tagging high-value leads, updating custom fields, or enrolling folks in workflows, it’s all handled with conditional logic and zero manual follow-up. Let the form submission do the work itself.

Snippet: Attach Files to Notifications

Gravity Forms provides a useful option to attach all uploaded files to a notification, but something is missing. You can’t choose a specific field. It’s all or nothing.

We wrote a barebones snippet years ago that allowed you to attach files from a specific field. This week, we were pleased to revisit it by customer-demand and now you can specify multiple fields. Enjoy!
