GWW 274: Images in Drop Downs
Get a crash course on how to add images in Drop Down fields. Plus, sort Nested Forms entries by date, how to catch email typos, and our top product updates of the week.

Greetings, wizards!
Clay (our masterful CTO) has been teasing me with little glimpses of our upcoming connection all week and it’s driving me crazy. 😆
We’re not ready to spill all the beans yet but if you’ve ever wanted to pull data from a REST API into your forms with Populate Anything, this plugin is the missing key. And a powerful key it will be! 🗝️
For now, let’s talk about all the things I can share with another week’s worth of wizardry. 🧙♂️
Top Picks: Product Updates
A few of my favorite product updates this week:
GP Advanced Phone Field: We updated the library that powers this perk with the latest phone number formats and added logging for failed phone number validation.
GP Limit Dates: Sometimes you just need a little external push to motivate you to dig into a new feature. We got just that from a Gravity Forms user on the forum this week which lead to the spontaneous addition of preliminary support for other Date field input types. 👌
GS Product Configurator: Improved support for conditional logic, GP Populate Anything, and WooCommerce Variable Products in this little Gravity Shop Product That Could™. If you’re using WooCommerce and want user-configurable products, we made this plugin for you. 🤲
GF Progress Meter: We fixed an edge-case fatal error but I was excited to highlight the simple fact that our free plugins now receive automatic updates all because of Spellbook! We have more free plugins coming soon to the Spellbook collection. 📚
Crash Course: Images in Drop Downs
We’re making a point to do more video around here! Crash courses are a great way to learn something new about Gravity Forms in the time it’d take you to go refill your water bottle. 🚰
Today I’m covering how to use images in your Gravity Forms Drop Down (and Multi-select) fields. It’s easy and adds a ton of style to your form. 😎
Updated: Sort Nested Form Entries by Date
If you’re not familiar with this snippet, it gives you the power to sort entries in your Nested Form fields by field value. Everything was going splendidly until a customer discovered that they couldn’t sort their entries by date… 😮
So we updated the snippet with support for sorting by Date fields! 🥳
How To: Catch Email Typos

I can’t possibly pitch this guide better than Dani’s opening paragraph:
If an email has a typo in it, it’s not actually someone’s email—it’s considered an “invalid email.” Any mail sent to it is just going to a dark void, never to be seen again while potentially negatively impacting your email reputation.
— Dani, Queen of the Docs
TL;DR: Help your users catch email typos and everyone wins. But you will need to read this guide to learn how. 😄
