New Release: GC Google Sheets 1.4

Say goodbye to developer metadata constraints and sync Gravity Forms entries with Google Sheets forevermore.

GC Google Sheets is a beast that sends your freshest entries automatically to Google Sheets. Other than its dead-simple UX, secure authentication, and absolute privacy, it can also sync changes made to entry data with Google Sheets automatically.

1.4 is all about that feature: it’s (not so) dark past, beautiful present, and exciting future.

Unlimited editing unleashed

Before, the Update & Delete Rows feature used Google Sheets’ developer metadata to match an entry with its corresponding row. With the 1.4 update, that connection ( 😉 ) is done directly through a column in the sheet instead.

Here’s a visual of the default GCGS Lookup ID in action:

Why does this matter?

  • Developer metadata enforced a cap that, when reached, would stop changes to new entries from syncing with the sheet. Now that cap ain’t no more—you can edit to your heart’s desire.
  • The ability to control how you want to link rows and entries.
  • As a bonus for the future, this paves the way for Update Feeds. 🙌

Feeds created prior to this change will continue to work normally, but we highly recommend switching for the reasons mentioned above. See how it works in this short documentation section:

Sheet just got real

GC Google Sheets 1.4 is available for download now in your Spellbook. 📖

Before we go, here are four tidbits of what else you can do with GC Google Sheets, for the road:

  1. Populate Google Sheets data into your forms (via Populate Anything).
  2. Specify exactly which sheet to send data to (or create a new one from scratch).
  3. Send previous entry data to Google Sheets with the free Feed Forge.
  4. Integrate with Gravity Flow.
